British people understand the climate crisis threat. Today I’m empowering them to tackle it
With nearly £30m of funding, I’m giving communities power over local energy. They know the gravity of global heating, and they want to be part of the solution

TL;DR
- Nearly £30m in funding allocated for People's Power projects across the UK.
- Communities will build and control their own clean energy supplies (solar, wind, hydro).
- Projects aim to put money back into people's pockets and tackle the climate crisis.
- Councils and community groups will have at least part-ownership in renewable energy projects.
- This is the first part of a £1bn Great British Energy programme for community energy.
- Removing VAT from household electricity bills from October to provide financial relief.
- The government aims to reach net zero by 2050 and reindustrialize Britain through green transition.
- The approach emphasizes creating jobs, lowering bills, and returning power to local people, contrasting with traditional regulation and private company rewards.
