Dream team or stuff of nightmares? Rams’ bold moves could go either way
LA added Myles Garrett and brought Aaron Donald out of retirement to create the NFL’s most menacing defense. A Super Bowl trip still isn’t a guarantee
TL;DR
- The Rams have made significant defensive upgrades, re-signing Aaron Donald and acquiring Myles Garrett, the NFL's top two pass rushers since 2017.
- These moves aim to create an overwhelming defensive pressure that opposing offenses may struggle to counter.
- Key concerns for the Rams include the health of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is nearing the end of his career, and the lack of a Super Bowl-caliber backup.
- Potential suspensions for key offensive players Puka Nacua and Alaric Jackson add further uncertainty.
- The success of these bold acquisitions is uncertain, with historical precedents of 'dream teams' failing to meet expectations.
