Chelsea’s front three dazzle as they edge out Fulham in derby thriller
Perhaps there will come a time when Xabi Alonso has taught Chelsea how to master the art of game management. This is a team still to learn how to grind. Equally it is a team capable of hurting anyone, and although Alonso’s first outing as Chelsea’s manager featured plenty of terrible defending it also provided confirmation that life will never be dull with a front three of Cole Palmer, João Pedro and Morgan Rogers.
TL;DR
- Xabi Alonso secured a 3-2 win in his first match as Chelsea manager.
- The attacking trio of Cole Palmer, João Pedro, and Morgan Rogers were key to Chelsea's victory.
- New signing Maxence Lacroix assisted Morgan Rogers' first goal.
- Chelsea's defending was criticized, with Robert Sánchez's performance questioned.
- Fulham showed promise despite defensive naivety, with Josh King and Gonzalo García scoring.
- Chelsea's midfield lacked control at times, with Enzo Fernández facing boos from the crowd.
- The team is considered a work in progress, needing to improve game management and defensive solidity.
