TL;DR
- Walter Kirn, author of 'Up in the Air', believes pre-election events are a psychological operation (psyop).
- He asserts that polls, rumors, social media, and anecdotes are subordinate to the election and not true in themselves.
- Kirn distrusts polls, seeing them as tools for manipulation by those who can pay for them.
- He states that news is now focused on behavior modification, not truth.
- Kirn advises voters to ask what pre-election narratives are trying to get them to do, not if they are true.
- He uses a Michigan Senate odds example from Kalshi Politics to illustrate his point.
- Republicans and independents are urged to ignore the 'noise' and focus on voting and turnout.
